DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Michal Neuvirth, PHI vs. VAN ($8,100): Projected to face the sputtering Canucks, Nuevirth has been hit or miss this season but still sports a rock-solid .928 save percentage and 2.17 GAA through six starts. Vancouver has lost four of its past five and scored just nine goals during that stretch. Additionally, the road team enters scoring just 2.26 goals and generating only 9.67 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes at five-on-five.

CENTER

Connor McDavid, EDM at STL ($7,900): St. Louis has allowed the fewest high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (9.17) at five-on-five in the league, so this is a daunting matchup for McDavid. Additionally, he missed Monday's practice because he was feeling under the weather, so there's a chance his ownership percentage dips as a result. Still, this is a surprisingly salary, and fading the best scoring in a shallow player pool is always risky.

Jamie Benn, DAL vs. MON ($7,200): With the Habs surrendering 11 goals through their past two games there's some added appeal to turn Benn's way. The veteran has six multi-point outings, 10 goals, nine assists and 49 shots through his previous 16 contests, so he also enters in excellent form.

WING

Claude Giroux, PHI vs. VAN ($6,300): The move to the wing has been a boon to Giroux's offensive numbers, and he's combined with linemates Jakub Voracek and Sean Couturier for an impressive 4.93 goals per 60 minutes this season. As noted, the Canucks enter in poor form 20 goals allowed through their past five outings. With just a single assist through his past four games, look for Giroux to break out of his recent mini funk.

Mattias Janmark, DAL vs. MON ($4,200): Expected to start with Jamie Benn and Alexander Radulov on Tuesday, Janmark is an excellent value play to consider. The trio skated together Saturday against Edmonton, and the 24-year-old Swede was on the ice for eight high-danger scoring chances through 18:39 of ice time. There's a chance Janmark is a popular target, though.

Drake Caggiula, EDM at STL ($3,800): Coming off a two-goal showing last time out, Caggiula is projected to skate with Connor McDavid on the No. 1 line. The 23-year-old winger is talented and obviously helps mitigate the hefty salary of his center in a mini stack. Double-checking the lines leading into the game is important, though.

DEFENSE

John Klingberg, DAL vs. MON ($5,800): With four goals, 15 assists and a fifth-ranked 2.42 points per 60 minutes among all defenseman with at least 200 minutes played this season, Klingberg is a strong lean. He's locked into a top offensive role and has quickly re-established himself a high-end contributor following a down 2016-17.

Shayne Gostisbehere, PHI vs. VAN ($5,300): After missing three games with an upper-body ailment, Gostisbehere has collected three assists, 19 shots, four blocked shots while averaging 22:45 of ice time (3:59 with the man advantage) through the past six contests. While those are modest marks, his 2.6 points per 60 minutes for the campaign highlight how well he's played this season. This salary is also manageable.
