Weekly Rankings: Week 3 Value Meter

This article is part of our Weekly Rankings series.

Sunday Update Complete (8:45 a.m. PT) - please consult our latest news page for any updates, especially this week.

Here are our rankings for the coming week at each position to help you decide your starting lineup. Our rankings are based on the following scoring system: four points for a passing touchdown; six points for a rushing/receiving touchdown; one point for every 20 passing yards; and one point for every 10 rushing/receiving yards. Flex Rankings are for PPR leagues.

Typically, this article will be posted on Tuesday evenings, roughly around 10:00 pm PT - it used to be 8:00, but life intervenes, and I coach two soccer practices on Tuesdays now. ***These are not draft rankings. They are solely for the given week of the season.***

I will update these during the week, usually twice per week to account for injury or other news during practice. The timing of those updates will vary based on the news at hand and my schedule for the given week. But the first of those updates usually won't happen until Thursday. At any rate, I will post a "last updated" note at the top of the article, or an "update in progress" note if it's while I'm doing it.

By all means, if you want to discuss a rank, or want me to add a player, chime in on the comments. I try to be receptive to your feedback and try to respond to most comments, though on occasion the volume can be quite

Quarterback

1.Aaron Rodgers GB vs. KC
2.Tom Brady NE vs. Jax
3.Andrew Luck IND at Ten
Note: The Colts' offensive line isn't giving Luck much time, but he's also making poor decisions under pressure. This week's game against the Titans should be better than his previous two matchups.
4.Ben Roethlisberger PIT at StL
5.Matt Ryan ATL at Dal
6.Carson Palmer ARZ vs. SF
7.Russell Wilson SEA vs. Chi
Note: Have Wilson and Jimmy Graham been introduced? Actually, I suspect this is the week that the connection between the two gets well.
8.Andy Dalton CIN at Bal
9.*Cam Newton CAR vs. NO
Note: Newton now has 24 rushing attempts in two games. Look for this to be a feature, not a bug.
10.Colin Kaepernick SF at Ari
11.Philip Rivers SD at Min
12.*Nick Foles STL vs. Pit
Note: Foles rolled his ankle late in the loss to the Redskins, but is expected to be ok. Not on the initial injury report.
13.Eli Manning NYG vs. Was
14.Peyton Manning DEN at Det
Note: Manning's offensive line still doesn't look good, so despite the good fantasy game, I remain concerned.
15.Joe Flacco BAL vs. Cin
16.Sam Bradford PHI at NYJ
Note: It doesn't get any easier this week for Bradford and the Eagles, facing the Jets.
17.*Marcus Mariota TEN vs. Ind
Note: Tweaked his ankle in the Week 2 loss to the Browns but doesn't appear on the injury report.
18.Blake Bortles JAC at NE
Note: I didn't see that coming from Bortles - 8.3 yards per attempt, the big day with Allen Robinson, all against a stout Dolphins passing attack.
19.Alex Smith KC at GB
20.*Ryan Tannehill MIA vs. Buf
Note: Tannehill played through an injured right ankle in the loss to the Jags. ***Limited practice participant Friday (ankle) and might not be very mobile against the Bills.***
21.Jameis Winston TB at Hou
22.Tyrod Taylor BUF at Mia
23.Teddy Bridgewater MIN vs. SD
24.*Ryan Fitzpatrick NYJ vs. Phi
Note: Fitzpatrick will be the starter even after Geno Smith returns.
25.*Matthew Stafford DET vs. Den
Note: Stafford is dealing with a rib injury and also had open wounds on his left hand and elbow in the loss to Minnesota, but still made it through walk-throughs Monday. Confident that he'll be able to play Sunday, but this is a pretty bad matchup. ***Listed as probable for Sunday's game.***
26.*Josh McCown CLE vs. Oak
Note: (Concussion) McCown could return to practice as early as Wednesday, but still needs to be cleared by the team and by an independent neurologist. But is there any reason not to start Manziel over McCown at this point? Apparently Mike Pettine (or Browns ownership) disagrees, and will start McCown this week.
27.Ryan Mallett HOU vs. TB
Note: Mallett threw a whopping 58 passes in the loss to Carolina, good for an inefficient 4.2 yards per clip.
28.Derek Carr OAK at Cle
Note: I'm more impressed with the late game-winning drive than the overall big day - big growth game from Carr.
29.*Brandon Weeden DAL vs. Atl
Note: Weeden took over for Tony Romo last week and will start this week, but the Cowboys are trying out a slew of quarterbacks to back him up. The Cowboys acquired Matt Cassel to back up Weeden, and could eventually provide some competition for him.
30.Kirk Cousins WAS at NYG
31.*Luke McCown NO at Car
Note: ***Starting Sunday against the Panthers.***
32.*Jimmy Clausen CHI at Sea
Note: Clausen is taking over for Jay Cutler while he is out, and lucky for Clausen his first start is at an angry Seattle Seahawks defense.
33.*Jay Cutler CHI at Sea
Note: Cutler is out 'a few weeks' due to a hamstring injury. Jimmy Clausen will take over. Not yet officially declared out, but hasn't practiced yet this week - seems like a John Fox gamesmanship trick. Even if he plays, do you really want to use him this week? ***Officially out.***
34.*Johnny Manziel CLE vs. Oak
Note: Manziel is still officially listed as the #2 Quarterback on the Browns' depth chart, though he might get the start again this week against the Raiders. Said depth chart came to life this week, with McCown being named the starter.
35.*Drew Brees NO at Car
Note: A second opinion by Dr. James Andrews revealed a bruised rotator cuff and not a tear. There's a chance that Brees still plays this week against Carolina. Both Sean Payton and Brees have been optimistic that he'll play this week, but he was limited in Thursday's practice. ***Out for this week, and Week 4 might also be in doubt. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports that the injury is a rotator cuff sprain, and not just a bruise as initially annouced.***
36.*Tony Romo DAL vs. Atl
Note: Romo was placed on the IR-designated to return list Tuesday, and will be out at least 8-to-10 weeks with a broken left clavicle.

Running Backs

1.Le'Veon Bell PIT at StL
2.Adrian Peterson MIN vs. SD
3.Jamaal Charles KC at GB
4.*LeSean McCoy BUF at Mia
Note: (Hamstring) Full practice Thursday. ***Limited practice Friday, but listed as probable.***
5.T.J. Yeldon JAC at NE
6.*Justin Forsett BAL vs. Cin
Note: (Shoulder) Taliaferro returned last week and ate into Forsett's playing time, including getting the goal line carry instead of him. This might have been because of the shoulder, however.
7.*Jeremy Hill CIN at Bal
Note: Hill was benched for the last part of the game Sunday against the Chargers after fumbling twice, but the coaching staff has said he will be back in the field. Still, this is disturbing also because Gio Bernard looked so good. ***Listed as the starter.***
8.Doug Martin TB at Hou
Note: Good yardage against the Saints but also lost a costly fourth quarter fumble.
9.*Carlos Hyde SF at Ari
Note: Hyde suffered a leg contusion against the Steelers, but passed immediate concussion tests. Able to practice Wednesday. ***Officially listed as probable.***
10.*Marshawn Lynch SEA vs. Chi
Note: (Calf) Sat out practice Wednesday - but he almost always sits out Wednesday. ***Also missed practice Friday and now is a game-time decision, officially listed as questionable. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport says that Lynch will play. Try to get as much information as possible before making the decision on Lynch before kickoff.***
11.Latavius Murray OAK at Cle
12.*Matt Forte CHI at Sea
Note: (Knee) Limited participant Wednesday. ***Officially listed as probable.***
13.Mark Ingram NO at Car
14.*Jonathan Stewart CAR vs. NO
Note: Not running great so far, lost goal line carry to Newton keeping it himself. (Knee) Did not practice Wednesday, limited Thursday. ***Officially listed as questionable, but expected to play.***
15.Alfred Morris WAS at NYG
16.Dion Lewis NE vs. Jax
17.*C.J. Anderson DEN at Det
Note: (Toe) Split time with Ronnie Hillman on Thursday and didn't run effectively when he was in there. The extra days of rest can't hurt.
18.*Devonta Freeman ATL at Dal
Note: Freeman has a big opportunity to wrest away the starting job with Tevin Coleman hurt. ***Coleman officially out.***
19.Isaiah Crowell CLE vs. Oak
Note: The Browns will maintain a committee approach this week against the Raiders.
20.Frank Gore IND at Ten
21.Melvin Gordon SD at Min
Note: Even though Gordon ran well against the Bengals, Danny Woodhead got more work, in part because the Chargers were trailing most of the game.
22.Joseph Randle DAL vs. Atl
23.Giovani Bernard CIN at Bal
24.Danny Woodhead SD at Min
25.*Chris Ivory NYJ vs. Phi
Note: (Groin) Very sore after Monday night's game, plus Bilal Powell closed matters out in the fourth quarter. Did not practice Thursday, and coach Todd Bowles admitted he was concerned about Ivory's situation for this week. ***Limited practice Friday, listed as questionable but expected to play, at least some.***
26.*James Starks GB vs. KC
Note: At worst will have a 50-50 role on Monday night against the Chiefs.
27.Bishop Sankey TEN vs. Ind
28.*Matt Jones WAS at NYG
Note: Though Jones was the more effective back against the Rams, it's more likely to be a 50-50 split, at best, for Jones with Alfred Morris in the immediate future. Jones also lost a fumble.
29.Darren Sproles PHI at NYJ
30.*Ryan Mathews PHI at NYJ
Note: Might start this week against the Jets following the hamstring injury to DeMarco Murray.
31.Ameer Abdullah DET vs. Den
32.Chris Johnson ARZ vs. SF
33.Shane Vereen NYG vs. Was
34.Rashad Jennings NYG vs. Was
35.*David Johnson ARZ vs. SF
Note: Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said that he expects Johnson's role will increase, though Chris Johnson will remain ahead of him as the starter as long as Ellington is out.
36.*LeGarrette Blount NE vs. Jax
Note: Blount was on the field for only seven snaps. There will be a week where he goes nuts - probably against the Colts - but otherwise it'll be difficult to see it coming.
37.*Todd Gurley STL vs. Pit
Note: (Knee) Practiced last week yet was still inactive, could be a game-time decision this week. Same construction as last week - would have been a full participant if the Rams had a full practice Thursday. Should come down to a game-time decision again this week. ***Took first-team reps Friday, expected to play.***
38.*Damien Williams MIA vs. Buf
Note: Could start this week and at any rate should get a lot of work.
39.*Chris Polk HOU vs. TB
Note: ***Could get a lot more work this week with Foster out and Blue not running so well.***
40.Lance Dunbar DAL vs. Atl
41.Ronnie Hillman DEN at Det
42.Bilal Powell NYJ vs. Phi
43.Karlos Williams BUF at Mia
44.*Lamar Miller MIA vs. Buf
Note: Miller sprained his ankle in the loss to the Jaguars, but said afterward he'd be ok. That's something well short of a medical diagnosis, so let's watch the practice reports carefully this week. Limited participant Thursday, appeared to be going at half-speed. ***Limited again Friday, expected to play, but I imagine he'll be limited.***
45.Dexter McCluster TEN vs. Ind
Note: More touches than Sankey last week. Good feeling about Whisenhunt and Sankey? Gone.
46.Duke Johnson CLE vs. Oak
Note: The Browns will maintain a committee approach this week against the Raiders.
47.Knile Davis KC at GB
48.DeAngelo Williams PIT at StL
Note: I'm curious to see just how active Williams is now that Le'Veon Bell has been reinstated from his suspension.
49.*Tre Mason STL vs. Pit
Note: Limited to only seven carries, as the Rams essentially abandoned the run. ***Gurley expected to play.***
50.Joique Bell DET vs. Den
51.*Eddie Lacy GB vs. KC
Note: Suffered an ankle injury Sunday night - right now there's a chance he could play, could split carries with James Starks. The extra day helps, but it also eliminates pivot options - make sure you own Starks if you plan to start Lacy. Wasn't present at Thursday's practice. ***Limited at Friday and Saturday's practice. I think if he plays, he'll be sharing time.***
52.*C.J. Spiller NO at Car
Note: (Knee) Spiller was limited to seven snaps in the loss to the Bucs.
53.Darren McFadden DAL vs. Atl
54.Marcel Reece OAK at Cle
55.*Benny Cunningham STL vs. Pit
Note: ***Gurley expected to play.***
56.Khiry Robinson NO at Car
57.Charles Sims TB at Hou
58.Josh Robinson IND at Ten
Note: Robinson frequently was in the game on third down on Monday night, though he struggled with his pass protection.
59.Fred Jackson SEA vs. Chi
60.Alfred Blue HOU vs. TB
Note: Only five carries for six yards, and yielded carries late to Chris Polk. Even if Foster doesn't return this week, you can't start Blue.
61.Javorius Allen BAL vs. Cin
62.Theo Riddick DET vs. Den
Note: Riddick was on the field more than Abdullah in Week 2, with the Lions playing from behind most of the game.
63.Terrance West TEN vs. Ind
64.Andre Williams NYG vs. Was
65.Brandon Bolden NE vs. Jax
66.Anthony Dixon BUF at Mia
67.Bobby Rainey TB at Hou
68.*Lorenzo Taliaferro BAL vs. Cin
Note: (Foot) Did not practice Thursday. ***Listed as questionable.***
69.Terron Ward ATL at Dal
70.Jerick McKinnon MIN vs. SD
71.Jeremy Langford CHI at Sea
72.Mike Davis SF at Ari
73.*Cameron Artis-Payne CAR vs. NO
Note: Surprisingly inactive in Week 2.
74.Roy Helu OAK at Cle
75.*Jonathan Grimes HOU vs. TB
Note: Held out of practice Thursday with a sore knee. ***Game-time decision.***
76.*Christine Michael DAL vs. Atl
77.*Arian Foster HOU vs. TB
Note: (Groin) Day-to-day this week. Foster hasn't officially been ruled out for Sunday, but earlier in the week coach Bill O'Brien suggested that he didn't think that Foster would be ready to go. He did look really good Wednesday, however. ***Officially will not play.***
78.*DeMarco Murray PHI at NYJ
Note: Murray had no room to run Sunday again - it's officially time to worry about the Eagles' offensive line. It took them a long time to gel last season, too. It might create a window to buy low on Murray, however. Injured his hamstring Wednesday and needed an MRI, did not practice Thursday. ***Full practice Friday, officially listed as questionable. Howard Eskin (from the Philly Fox channel) reports that Murray won't go.***
79.*Denard Robinson JAC at NE
Note: Robinson suffered a sprained knee in the win over Miami and is considered week-to-week. Did not practice Thursday.
80.*Tevin Coleman ATL at Dal
Note: Fractured a rib in the win over the Giants and will be out for an unspecified period of time. Coleman earlier scored on a goal-line carry, which is encouraging, but at minimum he'll miss Wednesday and Thursday practices. Didn't practice Thursday - he hasn't officially been ruled out, but it's not looking good. ***Officially ruled out.***
81.*Reggie Bush SF at Ari
Note: Still working through his strained calf.
82.*Andre Ellington ARZ vs. SF
Note: (Knee) Expected to miss Week 3 as well, could return for Week 4 against the Rams. Worked out on the side Thursday.

Wide Receivers

1.Antonio Brown PIT at StL
2.Odell Beckham NYG vs. Was
3.*Julio Jones ATL at Dal
Note: (Hamstring) Limited practice Thursday, but coach Dan Quinn asserted that Jones would be 'fine' for Sunday.
4.Demaryius Thomas DEN at Det
5.*A.J. Green CIN at Bal
Note: (Knee) Full practice Thursday.
6.Calvin Johnson DET vs. Den
7.*Randall Cobb GB vs. KC
Note: Said that his shoulder still isn't where he wants it to be, but practiced without restriction Thursday for the first time since suffering the injury. ***Full practice Saturday, listed as probable.***
8.Emmanuel Sanders DEN at Det
9.Allen Robinson JAC at NE
10.Donte Moncrief IND at Ten
11.Brandon Marshall NYJ vs. Phi
12.Julian Edelman NE vs. Jax
13.*DeAndre Hopkins HOU vs. TB
Note: Missed practice Wednesday with a concussion and was still going through the protocol Thursday, although he was 'looking good.' ***Passed the concussion protocol and will play.***
14.Jordan Matthews PHI at NYJ
15.Jarvis Landry MIA vs. Buf
16.*Mike Evans TB at Hou
Note: (Hamstring) On one hand, he played at least. But zero catches on three targets? He and Winston aren't yet on the same page. Full practice Wednesday. I'm backing off my panic - I think that this will be a better week. ***Listed as probable.***
17.Kendall Wright TEN vs. Ind
18.Steve Smith BAL vs. Cin
19.Vincent Jackson TB at Hou
20.*Larry Fitzgerald ARZ vs. SF
Note: Mea culpa - I was too quick to dismiss Fitzgerald. It's funny, as down as I am on Andre Johnson, I put Fitz in the same boat, which was unfair.
21.*T.Y. Hilton IND at Ten
Note: Hilton played through his bone bruise, but only had four catches for 45 yards on seven targets. The short week this week doesn't help, but he should play.
22.Anquan Boldin SF at Ari
23.Keenan Allen SD at Min
24.Pierre Garcon WAS at NYG
25.Amari Cooper OAK at Cle
26.Jeremy Maclin KC at GB
27.Golden Tate DET vs. Den
28.John Brown ARZ vs. SF
29.Travis Benjamin CLE vs. Oak
Note: On one hand, the Browns hardly throw the ball, but on the other, it seems as if Benjamin is the top target for them, at least when Johnny Football is out there. I don't think he'll completely disappear.
30.*Davante Adams GB vs. KC
Note: Played through a sprained ankle on Sunday night. Did not practice Thursday. ***Limited Friday and Saturday, listed as questionable.***
31.Michael Crabtree OAK at Cle
32.Sammy Watkins BUF at Mia
33.Torrey Smith SF at Ari
34.Terrance Williams DAL vs. Atl
35.Steve Johnson SD at Min
36.*Brandin Cooks NO at Car
Note: Missed practice Wednesday and Thursday with an ankle injury suffered in the Week 2 loss to the Bucs. ***Listed as probable.***
37.James Jones GB vs. KC
38.*Percy Harvin BUF at Mia
Note: (Hip) Didn't practice Wednesday, but returned Thursday and is expected to be 'full-go' Sunday.
39.*Rishard Matthews MIA vs. Buf
Note: Dolphins second-best wide receiver option behind Jarvis Landry.
40.*Aaron Dobson NE vs. Jax
Note: Dobson played more snaps against the Bills than he did all of last season. With LaFell's return off in the far distance, Dobson could be useful for a while.
41.Andre Johnson IND at Ten
42.Marques Colston NO at Car
43.Marvin Jones CIN at Bal
44.Marlon Brown BAL vs. Cin
45.Mike Wallace MIN vs. SD
46.Leonard Hankerson ATL at Dal
47.Danny Amendola NE vs. Jax
48.Charles Johnson MIN vs. SD
49.Dorial Green-Beckham TEN vs. Ind
50.Doug Baldwin SEA vs. Chi
51.Malcom Floyd SD at Min
52.Kenny Britt STL vs. Pit
53.Philly Brown CAR vs. NO
54.Kamar Aiken BAL vs. Cin
55.*Markus Wheaton PIT at StL
Note: (Chest) Did not practice Thursday. ***Listed as probable after a full practice Friday.***
56.*Ty Montgomery GB vs. KC
Note: ***Adams listed as questionable after being limited all week, meaning that Montgomery might get more targets.***
57.*Allen Hurns JAC at NE
Note: (Thigh) Limited practice Thursday. ***Listed as probable, even though he was limited Friday.***
58.Cole Beasley DAL vs. Atl
59.Roddy White ATL at Dal
Note: Just one target for White against the Giants - has he been surpassed by Leonard Hankerson?
60.Rueben Randle NYG vs. Was
61.*Phillip Dorsett IND at Ten
Note: Good news - six targets. Bad news - only one catch.
62.Nelson Agholor PHI at NYJ
63.Brandon Coleman NO at Car
64.Tyler Lockett SEA vs. Chi
65.Stedman Bailey STL vs. Pit
66.Cecil Shorts HOU vs. TB
67.Ted Ginn CAR vs. NO

76.Andrew Hawkins CLE vs. Oak
77.Jermaine Kearse SEA vs. Chi
78.Darrius Heyward-Bey PIT at StL
79.Nate Washington HOU vs. TB
80.Willie Snead NO at Car
81.Miles Austin PHI at NYJ
82.Tavon Austin STL vs. Pit
83.*DeVante Parker MIA vs. Buf
Note: (Foot) Slowly working his way back still - on the field for two series in Week 2.
84.Devin Funchess CAR vs. NO
85.*Marqise Lee JAC at NE
Note: (Hamstring) Now the third receiver with Greene on IR-to-return with a thumb injury. Full practice Thursday. ***Downgraded to questionable.***
86.Devin Street DAL vs. Atl
87.*Brian Quick STL vs. Pit
88.*Brice Butler DAL vs. Atl
89.*Eric Decker NYJ vs. Phi
Note: Decker sprained his knee and missed most of the second half Monday night against the Colts. Missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, but reported Thursday feeling much better. ***Inactive this week.***
90.*Josh Huff PHI at NYJ
Note: ***Inactive this week.***
91.*Jerricho Cotchery CAR vs. NO
Note: Suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Texans.
92.*Dwayne Bowe CLE vs. Oak
93.*Alshon Jeffery CHI at Sea
Note: (Hamstring/Calf) I won't rank him until he goes through a full practice. Missed practice Thursday. ***Out again this week.***
94.*Victor Cruz NYG vs. Was
Note: (Calf) Seems unlikely to play this week with the Giants playing Thursday night. Ruled out this week, but making progress.
95.*Breshad Perriman BAL vs. Cin
Note: (Knee) Unlikely to play in Week 3. Returned to practice Thursday.
96.*DeSean Jackson WAS at NYG
97.*Rashad Greene JAC at NE
Note: (Thumb) Placed on IR/Designated to Return.

Tight Ends

1.Rob Gronkowski NE vs. Jax
2.Greg Olsen CAR vs. NO
3.Tyler Eifert CIN at Bal
4.Travis Kelce KC at GB
5.Jordan Reed WAS at NYG
Note: Reed made it through the quad injury just fine.
6.Heath Miller PIT at StL
7.Jimmy Graham SEA vs. Chi
Note: Graham somehow received only two targets Sunday night against the Packers. I have a feeling that will change against the Bears.
8.Martellus Bennett CHI at Sea
9.Eric Ebron DET vs. Den
10.Vernon Davis SF at Ari
11.Zach Ertz PHI at NYJ
12.Jared Cook STL vs. Pit
13.Kyle Rudolph MIN vs. SD
14.Charles Clay BUF at Mia
15.Gary Barnidge CLE vs. Oak
Note: Barnidge might prove to be a stiff test of the 'Raiders can't cover tight ends' theory. He's a good hedge if you own Jason Witten or Austin Seferian-Jenkins.
16.Crockett Gillmore BAL vs. Cin
Note: Gillmore became the second tight end in two weeks to score twice against the Raiders.
17.Richard Rodgers GB vs. KC
18.*Jason Witten DAL vs. Atl
Note: Witten suffered two sprained ankles and a sprained knee in Week 2, plus will have Brandon Weeden throwing to him instead of Romo. Participated in limited practice Wednesday and Thursday. ***Listed as probable despite all the injuries.***
19.*Delanie Walker TEN vs. Ind
Note: Walker has sprained ligaments in his right wrist, though he's making strides in his recovery. Full practice Thursday. ***Another practice Friday, listed as probable.***
20.Virgil Green DEN at Det

27.*Jordan Cameron MIA vs. Buf

28.*Coby Fleener IND at Ten
Note: Only one target through two weeks - none on Monday night, even after Dwayne Allen left with an ankle injury.
29.Brent Celek PHI at NYJ

31.Jacob Tamme ATL at Dal
32.Marcedes Lewis JAC at NE
33.Jeff Cumberland NYJ vs. Phi

Note: Only on the field for 31 snaps in Week 2.
37.Jermaine Gresham ARZ vs. SF

Note: Allen suffered an ankle injury Monday night and is day-to-day. Did not practice Thursday. ***Officially ruled out.***
40.*Austin Seferian-Jenkins TB at Hou

9.Jamaal Charles KC at GB
10.Calvin Johnson DET vs. Den
11.*Marshawn Lynch SEA vs.
12.*Randall Cobb GB vs. KC
Note: Said that his shoulder still isn't where he wants it to be, but practiced without restriction Thursday for the first time since suffering the injury. ***Full practice Saturday, listed as probable.***
15.Emmanuel Sanders DEN at Det
16.*Matt Forte CHI at Sea
Note: (Knee) Limited participant Wednesday. ***Officially listed as probable.***
17.Julian Edelman NE vs. Jax

25.Vincent Jackson TB at Hou
26.*Carlos Hyde SF at Ari
Note: Hyde suffered a leg contusion against the Steelers, but passed immediate concussion tests. Able to practice Wednesday. ***Officially listed as probable.***
27.*Justin Forsett BAL vs. Cin
Note: (Shoulder) Taliaferro returned last week and ate into Forsett's playing time, including getting the goal line carry instead of him. This might have been because of the shoulder, however.
28.Dion Lewis NE vs. Jax
29.*Larry Fitzgerald ARZ vs. SF
Note: Mea culpa - I was too quick to dismiss Fitzgerald. It's funny, as down as I am on Andre Johnson, I put Fitz in the same boat, which was unfair.
30.*T.Y. Hilton IND at Ten
Note: Hilton played through his bone bruise, but only had four catches for 45 yards on seven targets. The short week this week doesn't help, but he should play.
31.Doug Martin TB at Hou
Note: Good yardage against the Saints but also lost a costly fourth quarter fumble.
32.T.J. Yeldon JAC at NE
33.Anquan Boldin SF at Ari
34.Giovani Bernard CIN at Bal
35.Latavius Murray OAK at Cle
36.Keenan Allen SD at Min
37.Joseph Randle DAL vs. Atl
38.Pierre Garcon WAS at NYG
39.Amari Cooper OAK at Cle
40.*DeMarco Murray PHI at NYJ
Note: Murray had no room to run Sunday again - it's officially time to worry about the Eagles' offensive line. It took them a long time to gel last season, too. It might create a window to buy low on Murray, however. Injured his hamstring Wednesday and needed an MRI, did not practice Thursday. ***Full practice Friday, officially listed as questionable. Howard Eskin (from the Philly Fox channel) reports that Murray won't go.***
41.*Brandin Cooks NO at Car
Note: Missed practice Wednesday and Thursday with an ankle injury suffered in the Week 2 loss to the Bucs. ***Listed as probable.***
42.Jeremy Maclin KC at GB
43.*Davante Adams GB vs. KC
Note: Played through a sprained ankle on Sunday night. Did not practice Thursday. ***Limited Friday and Saturday, listed as questionable.***
44.Alfred Morris WAS at NYG
45.*Jonathan Stewart CAR vs. NO
Note: Not running great so far, lost goal line carry to Newton keeping it himself. (Knee) Did not practice Wednesday, limited Thursday. ***Officially listed as questionable, but expected to play.***
46.*Jeremy Hill CIN at Bal
Note: Hill was benched for the last part of the game Sunday against the Chargers after fumbling twice, but the coaching staff has said he will be back in the field. Still, this is disturbing also because Gio Bernard looked so good. ***Listed as the starter.***
47.*James Starks GB vs. KC
Note: At worst will have a 50-50 role on Monday night against the Chiefs.
48.John Brown ARZ vs. SF
49.Travis Benjamin CLE vs. Oak
Note: On one hand, the Browns hardly throw the ball, but on the other, it seems as if Benjamin is the top target for them, at least when Johnny Football is out there. I don't think he'll completely disappear.
50.Kendall Wright TEN vs. Ind
51.Michael Crabtree OAK at Cle
52.Greg Olsen CAR vs. NO
53.*Mike Evans TB at Hou
Note: (Hamstring) On one hand, he played at least. But zero catches on three targets? He and Winston aren't yet on the same page. Full practice Wednesday. I'm backing off my panic - I think that this will be a better week. ***Listed as probable.***
54.Golden Tate DET vs. Den
55.Sammy Watkins BUF at Mia
56.Danny Woodhead SD at Min
57.Torrey Smith SF at Ari
58.Terrance Williams DAL vs. Atl
59.Steve Johnson SD at Min
60.*Arian Foster HOU vs. TB
Note: (Groin) Day-to-day this week. Foster hasn't officially been ruled out for Sunday, but earlier in the week coach Bill O'Brien suggested that he didn't think that Foster would be ready to go. He did look really good Wednesday, however. ***Officially will not play.***
61.Tyler Eifert CIN at Bal
62.Travis Kelce KC at GB
63.*Devonta Freeman ATL at Dal
Note: Freeman has a big opportunity to wrest away the starting job with Tevin Coleman hurt. ***Coleman officially out.***
64.Jordan Reed WAS at NYG
Note: Reed made it through the quad injury just fine.
65.*Matt Jones WAS at NYG
Note: Though Jones was the more effective back against the Rams, it's more likely to be a 50-50 split, at best, for Jones with Alfred Morris in the immediate future. Jones also lost a fumble.
66.*C.J. Anderson DEN at Det
Note: (Toe) Split time with Ronnie Hillman on Thursday and didn't run effectively when he was in there. The extra days of rest can't hurt.
67.Chris Johnson ARZ vs. SF
68.Frank Gore IND at Ten
69.Shane Vereen NYG vs. Was
70.Darren Sproles PHI at NYJ
71.Lance Dunbar DAL vs. Atl
72.Bishop Sankey TEN vs. Ind
73.Heath Miller PIT at StL
74.Jimmy Graham SEA vs. Chi
Note: Graham somehow received only two targets Sunday night against the Packers. I have a feeling that will change against the Bears.
75.Martellus Bennett CHI at Sea
76.Eric Ebron DET vs. Den
77.James Jones GB vs. KC
78.*Eddie Royal CHI at Sea
Note: *** (Hip/Back) Listed as questionable.***
79.*Percy Harvin BUF at Mia
Note: (Hip) Didn't practice Wednesday, but returned Thursday and is expected to be 'full-go' Sunday.
80.*Rishard Matthews MIA vs. Buf
Note: Dolphins second-best wide receiver option behind Jarvis Landry.
81.Andre Johnson IND at Ten
82.*Markus Wheaton PIT at StL
Note: (Chest) Did not practice Thursday. ***Listed as probable after a full practice Friday.***
83.*Eric Decker NYJ vs. Phi
Note: Decker sprained his knee and missed most of the second half Monday night against the Colts. Missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, but reported Thursday feeling much better. ***Inactive this week.***
84.Marques Colston NO at Car
85.Ronnie Hillman DEN at Det
86.Marvin Jones CIN at Bal
87.Marlon Brown BAL vs. Cin
88.Mike Wallace MIN vs. SD
89.Leonard Hankerson ATL at Dal
90.Isaiah Crowell CLE vs. Oak
Note: The Browns will maintain a committee approach this week against the Raiders.
91.Ameer Abdullah DET vs. Den
92.Melvin Gordon SD at Min
Note: Even though Gordon ran well against the Bengals, Danny Woodhead got more work, in part because the Chargers were trailing most of the game.
93.*Chris Ivory NYJ vs.
94.*Lamar Miller MIA vs.
95.Rashad Jennings NYG vs. Was
96.*David Johnson ARZ vs. SF
Note: Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said that he expects Johnson's role will increase, though Chris Johnson will remain ahead of him as the starter as long as Ellington is out.
97.Bilal Powell NYJ vs. Phi
98.*Benny Cunningham STL vs. Pit
Note: ***Gurley expected to play.***
99.Karlos Williams BUF at Mia
100.*LeGarrette Blount NE vs. Jax
Note: Blount was on the field for only seven snaps. There will be a week where he goes nuts - probably against the Colts - but otherwise it'll be difficult to see it coming.
101.*Damien Williams MIA vs. Buf
Note: Could start this week and at any rate should get a lot of work.
102.Dexter McCluster TEN vs. Ind
Note: More touches than Sankey last week. Good feeling about Whisenhunt and Sankey? Gone.
103.Duke Johnson CLE vs. Oak
Note: The Browns will maintain a committee approach this week against the Raiders.
104.Knile Davis KC at GB
105.DeAngelo Williams PIT at StL
Note: I'm curious to see just how active Williams is now that Le'Veon Bell has been reinstated from his suspension.
106.*Ladarius Green SD at Min
Note: Suffered another concussion, was limited at Wednesday and Thursday's practice. ***Still experiencing headaches, listed as questionable, limited in all three practices this week.***
107.Vernon Davis SF at Ari
108.Zach Ertz PHI at NYJ
109.Jared Cook STL vs. Pit
110.Kyle Rudolph MIN vs. SD

3.Brandon McManus DEN at Det
4.Mason Crosby GB vs. KC
5.Justin Tucker BAL vs. Cin
6.Matt Bryant ATL at Dal
7.Adam Vinatieri IND at Ten
Note: Vinatieri had a rare miss from 29 yards out on Monday night - just stay in tune with the rest of the misfiring team.
8.Mike Nugent CIN at Bal
9.Josh Brown NYG vs. Was
10.Chandler Catanzaro ARZ vs. SF
11.Randy Bullock HOU vs. TB
12.Josh Lambo SD at Min

14.Phil Dawson SF at Ari
15.Greg Zuerlein STL vs. Pit

18.Graham Gano CAR vs. NO
Note: Gano already has had two field goal attempts blocked.
19.Blair Walsh MIN vs. SD
20.Robbie Gould CHI at Sea
21.Travis Coons CLE vs. Oak
22.Matt Prater DET vs. Den
23.Dustin Hopkins WAS at NYG
24.Jason Myers JAC at NE
25.Sebastian Janikowski OAK at Cle
26.Ryan Succop TEN vs. Ind
27.Dan Carpenter BUF at Mia
28.Josh Scobee PIT at StL
Note: It can't be a good sign for your kicker's value when the team goes for 2-point conversions on the first two touchdowns.
29.Cody Parkey PHI at NYJ
30.*Zach Hocker NO at Car
Note: Ugly performance along with the rest of the team in Week 2, missing an extra point and a field goal.
31.Andrew Franks MIA vs. Buf
32.Kyle Brindza TB at Hou

Defenses

1.Seattle Seahawks vs. Chi
2.Carolina Panthers vs. NO
Note: Even if Drew Brees plays, I think they could be a top-five defense this week.
3.*New York Jets vs. Phi
Note: Antonio Cromartie (knee) amazingly was able to recover quickly enough to play Monday night.
4.New England Patriots vs. Jax
5.Denver Broncos at Det
6.Cleveland Browns vs. Oak
7.*Green Bay Packers vs. KC
Note: DT Josh Boyd is out with torn ankle ligaments.
8.*Buffalo Bills at Mia
Note: The Bills lost Aaron Williams with a neck injury against the Pats - appears unlikely to play in the near future.
9.Houston Texans vs. TB
10.Miami Dolphins vs. Buf
11.Arizona Cardinals vs. SF
12.Minnesota Vikings vs. SD
13.Baltimore Ravens vs. Cin
14.*New York Giants vs. Was
Note: Jon Beason (knee) might be able to play Thursday, though Week 4 seems more likely.
15.Cincinnati Bengals at Bal
16.Kansas City Chiefs at GB
17.Detroit Lions vs. Den
18.Washington Redskins at NYG
19.*Atlanta Falcons at Dal
Note: Paul Worrilow left in the second quarter in Week 2 with a bruised calf.
20.San Diego Chargers at Min
21.*Philadelphia Eagles at NYJ
Note: Kiko Alonso has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 partial ACL tear and will miss 2-to-4 weeks.
22.Dallas Cowboys vs. Atl
23.*Indianapolis Colts at Ten
Note: LB D'Qwell Jackson suffered a stinger in the loss to the Jets.
24.San Francisco 49ers at Ari
25.Tennessee Titans vs. Ind
26.*St. Louis Rams vs. Pit
Note: Alec Ogletree has become an IDP monster in leagues that include tackles.
27.Jacksonville Jaguars at NE
28.Chicago Bears at Sea
29.Pittsburgh Steelers at StL
30.New Orleans Saints at Car
31.*Oakland Raiders at Cle
Note: Charles Woodson was able to play with a dislocated shoulder last week.
32.Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Hou
