FanDuel MLB: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel MLB: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Pitcher

Clayton Kershaw, LAD vs KC ($27,200) – Kershaw is about as reliable as it gets at the pitcher position, and even though the White Sox have hit lefties well this season, they obviously haven't seen many, if any, like Kershaw. Also, Kershaw has averaged 12 strikeouts per game over his past three starts.

Robbie Ray, AZ at CIN ($21,600) -- Ray has been one of the better starters in baseball this season and he's coming off an incredible performance against the Dodgers. In that start, Ray went six innings, allowing just one run while striking out 13.

INFIELD

Cody Bellinger, LAD at CHW ($9,600)Miguel Gonzalez surrendered four or more runs in six of his last seven starts prior to landing on the DL, and Bellinger enters with a .414 wOBA against righties this season, which leads the potent Dodgers lineup.

Gary Sanchez, NYY at MIN ($8,800) – In case you haven't heard, a major league team decided it would be a good idea to sign Bartolo Colon. That team, of course, is the Minnesota Twins, and nobody is happier about this transaction than the Yankees as Colon enters with an 8.14 ERA. Sanchez enters with a .380 wOBA against righties this season.

Marwin Gonzalez, HOU vs SEA ($7,600)Sam Gaviglio has pitched well in spots this season as his 4.31 ERA would indicate, but as is often the case with young pitchers, the league eventually catches up with them. The A's certainly caught up with him in his most recent start as they pounded Gaviglio for a total of seven runs in less than five innings. The Astros are likely without Carlos Correa, which should move Gonzalez closer to the heart of the order and that can only add to his value. Gonzalez enters with a .428 wOBA against righties this season, which leads the Astros.

OUTFIELD

Joc Pederson, LAD at CHW ($8,400) – As mentioned earlier, with Gonzalez on the mound, you'll want to get a share of the Dodgers. Against a righty, we'll want to focus on the lefties and that means Joc Pederson is in play. Pederson enters with a .381 wOBA against righties this season, which is third on the team.

Aaron Judge, NYY at MN ($10,400) – Judge is in a slump, but it's just a matter of time before he gets back on track. With Colon on the mound, this looks like a good spot, as Judge enters with a .443 wOBA against righties this season.

J.D. Martinez, DET vs DET ($8,400) – Martinez left the game early Monday due to tightness in his back, but there's a chance he'll be back in the lineup against Travis Wood, which would make him one of the better plays of the day. Wood's ERA of 6.06 is a bit deceiving, as he was hit hard early in relief stints and hasn't pitched enough innings to bring it down, but nonetheless, he's a non-elite lefty. Martinez enters with a league-leading wOBA of .682 against southpaws this season.

UTILITY

Cameron Rupp, PHI at MIA ($6,400) – A catcher in the utility spot? It's not often that you'll see this, but with Adam Conley on the mound for the Marlins, I had to find space for at least one Phillies batter. As luck would have it, Rupp leads the Phillies with a .384 wOBA against lefties this season. Rupp also comes at a discount, which will come in handy given the high-end pitchers that are likely to be on your roster.

Adrian Beltre, TEX at BAL ($7,800)Dylan Bundy was perhaps the best Baltimore starter in the first half of the season but in his two starts prior to the break, he surrendered 11 runs in just nine innings. Beltre enters with a .381 wOBA against righties, which leads the Rangers.
