FanDuel MLB: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel MLB: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Pitcher

Mike Clevinger, CLE at SF ($8,500) – Clevinger is in a nice groove with three straight quality starts leading to games of 46, 46 and 40 fantasy points. Not only does he get to work in a better pitcher's park Tuesday, but he has a good matchup against the Giants without the DH. San Francisco has the worst wOBA against right-handed pitching this season with a .291 mark and their ISO (.133) is also the lowest in baseball. Clevinger sports a gaudy 27.5 percent strikeout rate and has the advantage of the Giants seeing him for the first time.

Catcher

Cameron Rupp, PHI at MIA ($2,400) – Rupp has been a completely different hitter this season based upon whether he's facing a left or right-handed pitcher. He's striking out over 37 percent of the time against the latter but luckily gets lefty Adam Conley tonight. Rupp has a .384 wOBA against southpaws this season while Conley in a limited sample has given up a .353 wOBA to right-handed hitters. Teammate Tommy Joseph is in play at first base as well.

First Base

Joey Gallo, TEX at BAL ($2,500)Dylan Bundy has been terrible over the last month, sporting an 8.53 ERA in five games and giving up seven home runs during that span. Gallo has a .360 wOBA on the road against right-handed pitching this season including nine home runs. Outside of the Coors game, this matchup has the second highest over/under at 10.5 runs.

Second Base

Carlos Asuaje, SD at COL ($3,000) – Asuaje is an affordable way to get a piece of some Coors action tonight in a game with an 11.5 over/under. Asuaje has been hitting in the two hole and after a couple of hits last night he's reached base safely in 11 straight games. Antonio Senzatela's worst splits are at home against left-handed bats (.338), making this a decent matchup for Asuaje.

Shortstop

Didi Gregorius, NYY at MIN ($2,800) – The Yankees are looking like a nice stack tonight against 44-year-old Bartolo Colon and his 8.14 ERA. Gregorius is in the middle of a great season and he's hit right-handed pitching to the tune of a .352 wOBA. Colon has given up a .371 wOBA to left-handed hitters and a .423 wOBA to right-handed hitters, putting the whole lineup in play.

Third Base

T.J. Rivera, NYM vs STL ($2,700) – Yesterday ended Rivera's 11-game hit streak that included three home runs and four doubles. He'll look to start a new one today against Michael Wacha and the Cardinals. Wacha has struggled on the road this season, giving up a .394 wOBA to opposing right-handed hitters, and Rivera should be in a good RBI spot in the five hole. Rivera owns a .346 wOBA at home this season against right-handed pitchers.

Outfield

Marwin Gonzalez, HOU vs SEA ($3,600) – Gonzalez seems to constantly fly under the radar in DFS given how good he's been at home. In Houston, Gonzalez has his best splits anywhere against right-handed pitching and faces off against Sam Gaviglio tonight. Gaviglio has given up a .351 wOBA on the road this season, a number that won't hurt Gonzalez and his .429 wOBA at home vs righties.

Chris Young, BOS vs TOR ($2,600) – Young has always been a lefty killer (though his numbers are down a little this season) and gets J.A. Happ at home tonight. Young has a career .362 wOBA against left-handed pitching and has gone 4-for-14 (1.021 OPS) against Happ for his career. Boston has the sixth best wOBA at home against southpaws (.345) and strikes out the second fewest times (16.2 percent), suggesting this isn't a good matchup in general for Happ.

Clint Frazier, NYY vs MIN ($2,500) – The case against Colon has already been made so while all the Yankees are in play, there's a few reasons to target Frazier specifically. He was moved up to the second spot in the batting order last night and responded with two doubles. Frazier is the cheapest New York hitter when considering the upside and prices of his teammates. He's hit safely in six of his last seven including two home runs and two triples and has multi-hit games in three of those outings.
